Thesis Staging

This is earlier work somewhere between Layout and second pass. Our thesis have nothing over 2 minutes long and our first semester consist of getting the animation done.

When creating my thesis, I really wanted to have fun using lights cause when it comes to good scary movies or moments, lighting is a big factor. I look at a lot of type of films to see what colors help create a creepy vibe and with Monster House and Corpse Bride, green work really well the type of indoor setting I have.

For daytime setting I have in the beginning of the film, I got inspired with the pales tones that I saw in Monster House and Cast Away.

One of the first challenging shots to plan was Dave in the kitchen because I wanted the window's shadow to frame the character and the flyer, and it feel like outdoor source light. The movie Frequency had a couple of good shots of what I was looking for.

Dave and Rodney

So meet Dave, he's a costume performer for birthday parties as the joyful character known as Rodney.Story takes place at Dave's house and I'll leave it at that for now.
